OUR MISSION

Our mission at Trettin Early Learning Center is to provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space where children and families can flourish. We are dedicated to fostering a diverse community that celebrates uniqueness and embraces the richness of different backgrounds. Through our anti-bias approach to learning, we instill a sense of pride and self-esteem in every child, empowering them to chase their dreams and reach their full potential. With love, compassion, and a commitment to excellence, we nurture the hearts of our little ones, laying a strong foundation for a brighter future.

The Program has a rich history dating back to 1968 when it started as the UCUCC Day Care Center. The program has evolved over the years and now operates separately as its own secular 501c3 non-profit organization. Most recently, the program has undergone a name change to honor the founders of the program. While UCUCC Child Care Programs is the legal name, the program now operates as Trettin Early Learning Center.

OUR HISTORY

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

An important part of our center philosophy is an anti-bias approach to learning. It is our goal to consistently maintain an environment that provides learning materials and offers activities which reflect all aspects of diversity. We particularly strive to reflect the diversity present in the families we serve.

When children see themselves and their culture reflected in their environment, and when children are supported in their choice of play, they learn to value themselves for who they are. This instilled sense of pride contributes to a higher self-esteem throughout adulthood.

The Board of Directors plays a vital role in shaping the vision and mission of the center. Consisting of volunteer parents, community members, and church representatives, our board brings a diverse range of perspectives and expertise to the table. Their primary purpose is to ensure the programs maintain the highest standards of quality and inclusivity, while also staying true to our founding principles.
